Healthcare

Healthcare environments are more than buildings—they are ecosystems that nurture wellbeing, foster innovation, and elevate the human experience. From cutting-edge research facilities to patient-focused healing spaces, we craft environments that seamlessly blend functionality, sustainability, and community-centric design.

Rationalising the Healthcare Estate

Healthcare providers face the challenge of delivering better care within ever-tightening budgets. At EEDN, we specialise in creating efficient, adaptable healthcare estates that balance clinical needs with operational efficiency. Whether it’s optimising space for patient care, streamlining logistics, or enhancing sustainability, we work closely with NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, and local authorities to reimagine facilities.

Our proven expertise, such as the London Cancer Hub, demonstrates how innovative master planning can create state-of-the-art environments while maximising land use and reducing operational costs

The future of Healthcare

The healthcare sector is increasingly intertwined with higher education and commercial R&D. At EEDN, we embrace this synergy, designing facilities that foster collaboration across disciplines. Our work on developments like the London Cancer Hub showcases how integrating healthcare, academia, and industry can drive innovation and accelerate patient outcomes .

We also recognise the role of sustainability and smart technologies in shaping healthcare’s future. By leveraging data-driven insights and embracing life cycle cost management, we create facilities that are not only cutting-edge but also future-proof .

Client-side secondments

We support some of our clients by allocating some of our staff on an interim basis to work internally for a defined period and role.

This brings an immediate benefit to our clients' teams by increasing the ability level of their internal delivery, whilst at the same time maintaining the head count.

Specialist services

Project audits

We help Clients perform a Project or Programme audit by analysing project data across the Commercial, Project Management and Design spectrum. Our analysis assesses the building's compliance with the design requirements, brief and construction standards.

Our team, reports back to the Client on these areas and provides a detailed advice for an objective overview of the project and provides valuable information to Stakeholders with recommendations on how to improve.

Risk management

Managing both risk and opportunities requires a collaborative process and a buy in from the stakeholders. We ensure that we embed risk-conscious behaviours from the outset, infiltrating all areas of the project.

Proactive mitigation enables engagement and allows us to turn certain risks into opportunities by promoting a culture of sharing and collaboration.

Project recovery

Sometimes projects don't go as planned, despite best efforts. Bringing in an exteral person to the team to take a hollistic view and formulate a road to recovery is key to unlocking the recovery.

At EEDN, we bring both Project and Design Management principles to the table for Project Recovery as we believe that both skills are required to challenge the norm. We go back to the business case and expected benefits of the project before establishing the list of corrective actions and refocus the team to the new targets.
