Education
Starting with the end in mind, we put your strategic aims first, understand your stakeholder structure and develop bespoke processes to suit that accordingly.
The Education ecosystem is a complex one and as such, each project should not be isolated. From equipment selection and installation to aligning with the academic timetable, education programmes have complexities that should be navigated carefully.
We understand Higher Education, from the competitive
world of ensuring that you attract the best students,
academics and staff, to providing the best value for money for your projects.
The future of the estate has never been more complex with online and remote learning, new alignment and spin-offs between research and business.
Whatever the size or value of your project, simple or complex, new build or refurbishment, together with our team and specialist subconsultants, we have the relevant skills, expertise and experience to see your project from inception through to completion.
1
Rationalising the Estate
We have significant experience in rationalising the Estate, probably one of the biggest considerations when embarking onto an Education sector development. Maintaining control is critical and it takes our good understanding of construction, design and development to enhance the delivery of projects.
2
We understand students
We have continual interaction with students, whether through our outreach as a company in Higher Education and Further Education institutions, or our Team's pro-bono lecturing at Universities for Project Management and Construction Law.
3
Delivering technical real estate
Not all of Education is lecture theatres and classrooms. Our expertise in delivering technically complex buildings, from Science to Manufacturing, provides extra assurance, whether for Teaching, Research or Commercial spaces.
Client-side secondments
We support some of our clients by allocating some of our staff on an interim basis to work internally for a defined period and role.
This brings an immediate benefit to our clients' teams by increasing the ability level of their internal delivery, whilst at the same time maintaining the head count.
Specialist services
Project audits
We help Clients perform a Project or Programme audit by analysing project data across the Commercial, Project Management and Design spectrum. Our analysis assesses the building's compliance with the design requirements, brief and construction standards.
Our team, reports back to the Client on these areas and provides a detailed advice for an objective overview of the project and provides valuable information to Stakeholders with recommendations on how to improve.
Risk management
Managing both risk and opportunities requires a collaborative process and a buy in from the stakeholders. We ensure that we embed risk-conscious behaviours from the outset, infiltrating all areas of the project.
Proactive mitigation enables engagement and allows us to turn certain risks into opportunities by promoting a culture of sharing and collaboration.
Project recovery
Sometimes projects don't go as planned, despite best efforts. Bringing in an exteral person to the team to take a hollistic view and formulate a road to recovery is key to unlocking the recovery.
At EEDN, we bring both Project and Design Management principles to the table for Project Recovery as we believe that both skills are required to challenge the norm. We go back to the business case and expected benefits of the project before establishing the list of corrective actions and refocus the team to the new targets.
